Jakob Claussen (born 9 June 1961 in Frankfurt am Main, West Germany) is a German film producer. Claussen studied at the University of Television and Film Munich from 1985 to 1989 and, in 1992, founded the production company Claussen & Wöbke Filmproduktion GmbH in Munich with Thomas Wöbke . In 2003, with the addition of a third partner, Ulrike "Uli" Putz , the company became Claussen Wöbke Putz Filmproduktion GmbH (sometimes stylized as Claussen + Wöbke + Putz Filmproduktion GmbH). In 2010, Thomas Wöbke resigned from the management of CP at his own request, but remained a partner of CP and worked as a freelance producer with his own company. Since then, the company has been called Claussen+Putz Film Production GmbH since. Claussen won the Bavarian Film Award in 1996 for After Five in the Jungle and in 2004 for Lights . The film Beyond Silence was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Foreign Language Film. Jakob Claussen was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy in 2003 .
