Notes :
Cinémonde was a French weekly cinema magazine, published from 1928 to 1971.

The first issue, accompanying the arrival of talking pictures, was released in October 1928, under the direction of Gaston Thierry, a journalist from the magazine Tout-Paris-Ciné.
The journalist Jean-Michel Pagès was its director of publication. Suzanne Chantal was its editor-in-chief.
Maurice Bessy succeeded her in 1934.
Cinémonde , illustrated with numerous photos, covered cinema news extensively, and counted among its contributors, notably Charles Ford , Marcel Carné , Blaise Cendrars , Pierre Mac Orlan , Joseph Kessel.

After a hiatus from 1940 to 1946, Cinémonde, sold to Jean-Placide Mauclaire, co-founder of Studio 28, reappeared in 1946 with Maurice Bessy as director, who remained in office until 1966.
Having absorbed the competing titles Cinévie-Cinévogue and Pour Tous, the magazine was now devoted mainly to news about screen stars and then, from the end of the 1950s, to singing stars as well. It was in this spirit that the Victoires du Cinéma were created in 1946 to reward the most popular screen stars each year during the Nuit du Cinéma.

Cinémonde was published until 1968, then stopped, then briefly reappeared in 1970-1971 under the title Le Nouveau Cinémonde before disappearing for good.
