General info : | | Ron Villani (born Ronald J. Villani June 10, 1939 in Chicago, USA - died November 13, 2017, USA (aged 78)) was an American painter and illustrator.
Ron graduated Fenger High School in Chicago, attended University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, University of California at Los Angeles and received a BFA in 1963 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
He graduated, winning the Ryerson Foreign Traveling Fellowship, and was awarded a scholarship to the Skohegan School of Art in the same year.
Ron worked for the armed service publications department as a graphic designer while serving in the United States Army from 1964-1965 in Washington D.C.
During his career he worked with Encyclopedia Britannica and as a freelance artist had assignments with Scott Foresman, Playboy magazine, Crate and Barrel, McDonalds, Klutz Press, Target, Jaguar and various museums to name just a few.
Ron Villani was the artist behind the cover art for the NES versions of Renegade, Bubble Bobble 1 & 2. Ron illustrated many of the classic Taito Video Game packaging in the late 1980's.
Upon semi-retirement he was able to devote himself to his passion of painting. His artwork was represented and received awards at various galleries and museums throughout his lifetime in Chicago, as well as in prominent collections on the East Coast and throughout the Midwest. | |
