General info : James Baes (1936-2017) was a photographer active from the 1950s to the 1980s. He became acquainted with the female form spending time in the Paris atelier of his father, Flemish painter Emile Baes, whose subject was the classical nude. Throughout his lifetime, James was, in turn, the lead photographer for magazines such as LUI, Playboy, and Stern. His daughter, French-American multi-disciplinary artist Olivia Baes, became the curator of the James Baes Foundation before his death.
